Hawaii, called the "Big Island," is by far the most awe inspiring place known to man. With the most active volcanoes, tallest mountains, largest telescopes, beautiful people and incredible places on Earth, Hawaii truly is beyond description.
We invite you to follow the list of links to the left to access samples from our collection of over 30,000 photographs taken by Dorian Weisel of this incredible place.
We present our collection divided into two main sections; Kilauea Volcano and from Around the Island. In the Kilauea Volcano section you will find pictures of all aspects of the on-going eruption along Kilauea's East Rift Zone. From the many different types of eruptive activity, including the high fountains of the early 1980's, to pictures of lava pouring into the sea along the islands southern coast, we believe you will be awed by the myriad of forms this phenomenon takes.
Besides being home to the most active volcanoes on Earth, Hawaii has many other treasures tucked between her shores. From snow capped mountains to lush tropical jungle, with some of the most diverse landscapes in between, this truly is an amazing place. In our from Around the Island section you will find pictures of the tallest mountains, largest telescopes, lush green valleys, cascading waterfalls, tropical sunsets framed in palms, and a large selection of many of the other wonders to be found on this amazing island.
It is our hope that the images we have selected for presentation will give you a good idea of the diversity of our archives.
